My artistic endeavors began when I was old enough to color with crayons.   My parents always encouraged me to be artistic and creative and enrolled me in all the art classes I wanted to take, however my passion for design and photography began in 5th grade when I joined the yearbook staff.  Even though back then when being on yearbook meant cutting and pasting the photos with glue sticks, my passion for design only grew from there.  I am always able to draw inspiration from my mom and her unique, positive, and creative view of the world.  Her sense of color and perspective has always drawn me to view the world in unexpected ways.

Beginning in elementary school my passion for yearbook carried me through middle school, and then to high school where in my junior year I was assistant editor and my senior year I was Editor-in-Chief.  Taking a step towards the world of design, I began my pursuit of higher education in the design field by attending Marymount California University, where I earned my A.A. degree with a concentration in graphic design with honors and high distinction.  From there I transferred to the University of Southern California (USC) where I am currently working on getting my bachelor’s degree in graphic design.  At USC I have been exploring the use of typography, color, and pattern.

The development of my graphic design work has been greatly due to my experience at the USC Design Studio which has expanded to include freelance projects ranging from brochure, newsletter, email campaigns, book design, and apparel design. In recent years and on a personal level, I find myself also drawn to the challenges of  learning how to illustrate.  My professional freelance design work has grown from designing for friends to designing a logo for a beekeeping company in Georgia, creating a logo for a paddleboard company, and creating a digital marketing campaign for the LA Galaxy South Bay soccer team.

Experimentation and material diversity have always proved to be sources of inspiration in my creative journey. Constantly, new paths of expression reveal themselves through understanding the properties and fluidity of the medium. Objects and characters in my art attain both a physical and symbolic reference to the human figure and states of being, creating communication with the viewer on a mythical intuitive level.
